Orthomolecular medicine

Orthomolecular medicine focuses on vitamins, trace elements, minerals, amino acids, hormones, enzymes, and other substances that naturally occur in the human body. These micronutrients play an essential role in maintaining our health, supporting overall well-being, and ensuring a stable and efficient metabolism.

Deficiencies can arise from a variety of factors, such as an unbalanced diet, chronic stress, increased nutritional demands for example during pregnancy, intensive physical activity, long-term medication use, or chronic illnesses.

Following a comprehensive medical history (anamnesis) and a targeted blood analysis, potential nutrient deficiencies are identified and individually assessed. Based on these findings, a personalized treatment plan is developed. Deficient vitamins, minerals, amino acids, or hormones can then be supplemented in a targeted manner—either in the form of high-quality oral supplements (e.g., capsules) or, in cases of pronounced deficiencies, through intravenous infusions. Vitamin, iron or amino acid infusions in particular can help correct deficiencies more rapidly.

The costs for laboratory testing are partially covered by health insurance. Certain additional laboratory analyses must be paid privately and are billed separately from the medical consultation fee. The costs for these additional tests typically range between €120 and €250.

Treatment success is evaluated after approximately four to six months through repeat laboratory testing, and the therapy is adjusted if necessary.

Measure, treat, and monitor – this structured approach forms the basis of responsible and evidence-oriented orthomolecular medicine.
